Much needed words today. I am still reeling from the election but am also trying to stay busy. It helps. However, I am still unable to watch the national news. Hopefully this too will pass over time. Music does help. Gospel, Anita Baker and Whitney Houston are my current picks. I'll have to add Marvin now.

I have never heard of "found poems," but they're a brilliant creative practice. What I love about music is how it can bring us back to specific moments in time. Lyrical time machines that we can revisit time and time again. This was beautifully written, raw, and honest.

Your writing is so beautiful Karen!! Thank you for sharing your heartfelt words with us 🩷 also were you in Amber Rae’s on the page course? I feel like I remember you but hard to remember everyone since it was on Zoom!

Yes. I was a part of Amber’s very expensive course. 😂. I thought you looked familiar. Thank you for the compliment.

This was beautiful. That you kept writing through it all must have been cathartic for you. Thank for sharing your self-care day with Marvin Gaye. Are there any contemporary artists to match, seriously?

Take care, please. Sending love from another Karen.

I love this. You are such a beautiful soul. There is nothing like a self-care day when you have the house to yourself. So glad you were able to nourish yourself this way.

I’m just reading this today, and I’m so glad you just kept writing, and shared it all. Self care including physical pampering and music all day is such a wonderful thing. Marvin Gaye’s music still speaks. Thank you.

I read one of the biographies of his life last year and it really made me feel for him. I knew he had a troubled life before then, and everyone knows the story of his death, but hearing the ins and outs.. man. I also think he was undiagnosed because there were soooo many similarities.
